Before continuing South as an end of season roundup I wanted to relay a couple of favourites that we & our guests have particularly enjoyed in 2018 whilst sailing in Mallorca and Menorca.
All are within easy reach of our charter bases in Alcudiamar & Club Nautico Pollenca. If you want to visit & Bareboat is not your thing or you are unsure take a Skipper – very experienced and family friendly – or consider an RYA course which will put you on the water with the knowledge, experience & confidence to charter as qualified skipper next year, anywhere in the world.
Cala Murta to the SW of Cap Formentor we always find as beautiful and tranquil as our charter SO 36i the picture above. Certainly great for a day /lunch stop it makes for a decent overnight anchorage in the right conditions. Crystal waters, a small pebble beach & decent walks inland & make for an easy location not too far from Pollenca, Cocodrilo – Bonaire, or Alcudia. Usually quieter than Cala Formentor & En Coll Baix.
Well South of Alcudia bay, and a good stop if heading for Porto Cristo (Give Ratjada a miss maybe) just before Pta del Gat – Cat point – lie Cala Molto & Cala Guya. Molto is a little further from the developments to the South and the water can appear white from the sand below, but again crystal clear. Shelter is better than expected on the last visit we finally left with moderate South Easterlies established but we had had a great day at anchor with only 2 other boats swimming to the deserted beach in the shelter of the small spit that divides the calas.
